The majority of the grade comes from the exam. His exam is very inconsistent to the course material and the questions do not reflect your true knowledge of the material. Not to mention he copied the lecture notes word for word form the textbook and are sometimes inconsistent with his lecture videos. He’ll say one thing in the video and his lecture note will say something totally different. The course outline helps with understanding the material but not the exam since his exams are inconsistent with the course material

Just to read, listen or read lectures and be tested literally is not a way to teach a future health practitioner. The exams were not relevant material or anything that you think would be tested. Not to mention that most of the test questions were "bad" questions. Discussion questions were good because we learned from each other however, the feedback, was well it could be this or that and maybe that was not helpful. I feel I learned more from my classmates feedback. I do believe he has a heart and cares however, the actual teaching is not what he should be doing or not online atleast

This course has difficult material to begin with, but Dr Gonzales doesn't help make things any easier. Grading is often inconsistent with assignments, and exam questions often do not reflect the lecture or reading materials. He is not approachable, when messaged, he often replies very short and unhelpful answers such as "it's in the reading" or "I addressed it in the lecture" instead of assisting to help clarify a question. I do believe that he means well, but his approach is not effective. I am not complaining because I did not pass this course, I did with a good grade but I had to use a lot of outside sources such as youtube, and osmosis med to teach myself in order to get a passing grade. If you have to take this professor, I suggest you plan for a lot of study time, and a lot of self teaching because that is honestly what it takes to pass this course. I had hoped that I would learn a lot in his course, but in the end all I really learned was how to pass his exams which is kind of a disservice to me as a student. I feel I could have learned a lot better with a more approachable instructor who was able to make the material easier to understand, and more interactive.

Suggest some different ways to present lecture.

I did not have a pleasant experience in the advanced patho class for this professor. I do feel he cares because he answers all questions about the course and to him directly extremely promptly. That's the positive. The negative is his lectures are lacking in helping one understand the content being taught. In his lectures I feel he is talking at you which makes the lectures bland and hard to listen to. I have learned more off YouTube professors that provide it for free like David Woodruff. That to me is teaching. If you are a visual learner his lectures will be extremely hard for you. Lastly, his tests seem to poke at obscure facts and at other times provide unrealistic scenarios. I feel his tests are more memorization based than true understanding of what is going on.

Online classes can be challenging and Dr. Gonzalez helped make the class easier. Dr. Gonzalez answered questions to e-mails as well as the discussion board promptly and clearly. He even chimed in on the discussion boards between students to provide encouragement. In addition to being helpful and uplifting, his class was well organized and helped you better understand pathophysiology.
